Vallejo Man Arrested For Alleged Carjacking At BART Station

BART police officers were right there when it happened, and took two men into custody before they could drive away.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Vallejo man is one of two suspects who carjacked a Mercedes SUV at the Walnut Creek BART Station Tuesday night, BART spokeswoman Anna Duckworth told Patch. Both men allegedly involved in the crime were taken into custody before they could even drive away.

There were no injuries.

The crime happened at 7:40 p.m. A man was waiting in his vehicle to pick up his wife when he was approached by the two men, who did not show weapons, said Duckworth. The victim went straight over to two nearby BART Police officers, who happened to be there.

The officers took the two men into custody. They have been identified as Lamar Sims, 21, of Vallejo, and John Minor, 31 of San Francisco.

They are being held on multiple charges including carjacking.

The name of the victim was not released.
