Vallejo Suspect, 19, Arrested In East Bay Smash-And-Grab
Walnut Creek police & Contra Costa deputies collaborated for last week's arrest in Macy's robbery, involving a trio with hammers.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A 19-year old Vallejo man was arrested last week in connection with a June 18 smash-and-grab robbery at Macy's in Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek, according to authorities.
An investigation by the Walnut Creek Police Department and the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office led to an arrest warrant for Jammoni Simon, one of three suspects identified in the case, officials said. He was taken into custody July 5 by deputies, who said the man was in possession of a loaded gun during his arrest.
The Macy's robbery occurred on a Saturday shortly before 11 a.m. as three men in masks and hooded sweatshirts entered the retailer and used hammers to smash jewelry display cases, police said.

The suspects stole an unknown amount of high-end watches and fled in a white, older model, four-door Honda sedan, police said. At the time, Macy’s staff still was tallying the losses, and no specifics on costs or damages were released.
No employees or shoppers were injured during the robbery.
