Woman Arrested for Husband's Stabbing Death at Hand of Son
Police accused a Fairfield woman of destroying evidence, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

Police arrested a 38-year-old Fairfield woman Friday in connection with the stabbing death of her husband last month, which was allegedly carried out by the woman’s 10-year-old son.
Officers arrested Carissa Aldrich at her home in the 700 block of Overture Lane at 11:39 a.m., on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment and destruction of evidence, according to police.
The arrest came after detectives investigating the case determined Carissa Aldrich’s actions contributed to the death of her husband, Tim Aldrich, 45, police said.

On Oct. 25, at around 6 a.m., Carissa Aldrich called police from the Overture Lane residence requesting an ambulance for her husband, who she said would not wake up, according to police.

When police and fire personnel arrived at the home, they determined that Tim Aldrich died from an apparent stab wound, police said.
After an investigation, detectives concluded the pair had been involved in an argument, which became physical, according to police.
Fearing for his mother’s safety, the 10-year-old retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his stepfather, Tim Aldrich, police said.
The boy has since been placed into protective custody with Children’s Protective Services, according to police.
