1 Robbery, 1 Attempted Robbery In Berkeley

In both cases, the crooks worked in pairs. The crimes happened on Hearst and Le Conte avenues.

BERKELEY, CA — Police are looking for suspects involved in a robbery and an attempted robbery that occurred Sunday in Berkeley, police said.

At 7:28 p.m., a male victim was approached by two male suspects in the 2400 block of Le Conte Avenue, about a block from the University of California campus.

According to police, the suspects approached the victim from behind and tried to take his cellphone, but were not successful. The suspects then allegedly punched the victim several times before fleeing west on Le
Conte Avenue.

The victim was not seriously injured, police said.

One of the suspects was described as a white man who is 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and with a medium build and curly hair. The second suspect was described as a white man who is 20 to 25 years old with a thin build, police said.

At 8:37 p.m., another male victim was walking in the 2400 block of Hearst Avenue when two male suspects approached him.

According to police, one of the suspects stepped in front of the victim and forcibly removed his backpack. The second suspect demanded the victim's wallet while indicating that he had a gun under his clothing, police
said.

The victim complied with their demands, and the suspects then fled the scene north on Scenic Avenue. The victim was not injured during the encounter, police said.

One suspect was described as a Hispanic man who is 25 to 30 years old with a heavy build and black hair. The second suspect was described as an Asian man who is 25 to 30 years old and about 6 feet tall, police said.
