'Armed, Dangerous' Suspect ID'd In Deadly Berkeley Hit-And-Run

BERKELEY, CA — Authorities have identified a suspect in Monday's hit-and-run collision that killed a 58-year-old woman, Berkeley police said Saturday.
Alexander McGee, 29, is wanted for charges including vehicular manslaughter, hit and run causing death and domestic violence, police said. He is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him should call 911, police said.

Around 10:30 a.m. Monday, a UC Berkeley police officer was driving on Sixth Street when he saw a man violently attacking a woman inside a gray Nissan four-door sedan parked along the curb line near University Avenue, police said.

As the officer approached the car, the driver sped away and ended up on University Avenue west of Sixth Street, where it hit and killed a female pedestrian on the sidewalk, according to police.
The victim was a 58-year-old transient woman, police said. The Nissan continued onto Interstate Highway 80 and has not been found.

Police investigating the collision identified the suspect a McGee, who has outstanding arrest warrants from Contra Costa County, police said.
