Berkeley Special Election to Be Mail-In

Residents may also vote early. Special accommodations will be made for the physically challenged.

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley will hold a special election Tuesday, March 7, 2017, for the City Council District 4 seat. The vacancy was created by the election of the District 4 Councilmember, Jesse Arreguín, to the office of Mayor.

The election will be 100 percent mail-in.

· Ballots will be automatically mailed to all registered voters who reside in the City of Berkeley, City Council, District 4.

Early Voting in the Registrar of Voters’ office begins on Feb. 6. Voting will be 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Returning Your Ballot

Completed ballots must be returned to the Registrar of Voters’ office no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, March 7. Ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and must be received by March 10.

An accessible touchscreen/audio voting machine will be provided to assist voters with visual, auditory or motor skill limitations at the Civic Center Building located at 2180 Milvia Street, 1st Floor, Cypress Room, Berkeley, CA, 94704, on March 7 from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
