Jacobo Angeles, Mexican Artist, Exhibits and Demonstrates His Work in Berkeley

Jacobo Angeles, the celebrated Zapotec artist from Oaxaca, Mexico, will exhibit and demonstrate his work. He has transformed the popular Mexican craft of carving animal forms into a fine art. His work appears in collections around the world. Drawing inspiration from the Zapotec traditions of his native region, he works in the wood of the copal tree and creates pigments from natural sources collected in his region. He will demonstrate his carving mastery as well as his production of pigments.
