Fire Out At UC Berkeley Apartments, Cause Under Investigation
People are being allowed to return to buildings that were evacuated while firefighters battled the blaze, officials said.

BERKELEY, CA — A fire that forced evacuations of four apartment buildings at UC Berkeley's University Village Albany has been extinguished, police said in an update Monday afternoon.
The fire at 755 Ohlone Ave. in Albany, which prompted emergency alerts to the UC Berkeley community about 11:30 a.m., was out by shortly after 1 p.m., UC Berkeley officials said.

Residents were being permitted back into the four evacuated buildings — 104, 105, 106 and 107 —as of about 2:15 p.m., officials said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, and information on the cause of the fire was not immediately available.
