Police Seek Victim In Assault Case Following Suspect's Arrest

Police are hoping that the unidentified woman assaulted by a man last week will come forward.

BERKELEY, CA — Police in Berkeley are hoping that a woman who was assaulted by a man last week but was never identified will come forward since the suspect in the case has now been arrested, the department said Tuesday.

On Oct. 16 at about 1:20 p.m., an unknown female was near the intersection of Oxford and Center streets when she was approached and physically picked up by a man. The man grabbed the victim from behind, picked her up off the ground, and licked her from her neck to her eye. The suspect would not let go of the victim and began walking away with her, police said.

A bystander saw the encounter and intervened, allowing the woman to flee from the area. Consequently, she was never identified.
