BERKELEY, CA — The Berkeley City Council has been volatile this year, with two council members resigning. The elected body's next meeting is Tuesday evening. Among items on the agenda is tackling rising crime against women, particularly older women. The City Council will consider crime prevention programs.
Also on the Agenda:
- A $15,393.29 grant to Berkeley Repertory Theater to offset the non-profit's City Business License Tax.
- A Resolution authorizing a grant application to the National Endowment for the Arts to receive up to $150,000 for a Civic Arts grant.
- A $1.3 million contract with Traditions Behavioral Health to provide psychiatry services.
- A report on Alameda County's participation in the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority’s $10 to 20 billion Regional General Obligation Affordable Housing Bond expected to be placed on the ballot for the November 2024 election.
The Berkeley City Council Meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the School District Board Room, 1231 Addison St.
