Robbery, Attempted Robbery In Berkeley This Week
One man was attacked by 3 men who jumped out of a vehicle that had its lights turned off.

BERKELEY, CA — University of California at Berkeley police reported one attempted robbery and a separate armed robbery in off-campus areas on Sunday and Monday.
The first incident on Sunday was an attempted robbery on Hearst Avenue, according to police. The case fell within Berkeley police jurisdiction.
A man was walking near Euclid Avenue when a vehicle approached him with its lights off, police said.

Three men jumped out of the car and attacked the victim, police said. One of the suspects tried to grab the man's backpack while the other suspects kicked him. The victim was able to hold on to his property, according to police. The suspects fled the scene and the victim was treated for minor injuries at the university health center.
On Tuesday, campus police responded to a report of an armed robbery that had happened on Monday at about 1 p.m. in Berkeley's People's Park. A suspect took a serrated kitchen knife from a victim's belongings and allegedly threatened the person while stealing their items, according to campus police.

Police said the victim and the suspect knew each other, and the victim was not injured during the robbery.
