Royal Wedding: CA Native To Bake Wedding Cake
When Prince Harry exchanges vows with Meghan Markle, they'll celebrate with a cake baked by California native Claire Ptak.

LONDON — The invitations are printed and final touches are being chosen for the May 19 wedding of England's Prince Harry to American actress Meghan Markle. The couple have chosen Violet Bakery in London for their wedding cake. The bakery is owned by California native and Chez Panisse alum Claire Ptak who "focuses on using seasonal and organic ingredients in her cakes," according to Kensington Palace.
The couple strayed far from the ordinary chocolate or vanilla. Instead, the Palace tweeted, "Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have asked Claire to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring."
The cake will be iced with buttercream frosting and decorated with fresh flowers.
