UC Berkeley Campus To Become Bee-Friendly
Students will make the official announcement as the university becomes the 80th Bee Campus USA affiliate.
BERKELEY, CA — Students at the University of California at Berkeley will announce Thursday that the campus is bee-friendly, according to the California Student Public Interest Research Group.
The group and others will gather at 11:45 a.m. on the Savio Steps in front of Sproul Hall. The effort is meant to reduce the risk that native bees will become extinct because bees are fundamental to the production of the world's food supply.
Also in attendance will be state Sen. Nancy Skinner and among others, Berkeley City Councilmember Kate Harrison.
