Beverly Hills High School Class Of 2020 Honored With Lawn Signs
The PTSA and Senior Committee put up lawn signs congratulating seniors, the first of a few May events honoring the Class of 2020.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — This past weekend, Beverly Hills High School seniors woke up to congratulatory lawn signs on their front yards. Throughout the month of May, the Beverly Hills High School Parent Teacher Student Association Senior Committee will deliver signs saying “Congratulations Seniors! Class of 2020” to every member of the class’s home.
Beverly Hills joins other local communities looking for ways to celebrate their seniors during a difficult time. The PTSA is also organizing a “Senior Door Day” on May 13 in which families of high school seniors decorate their doors to honor the accomplishments of their graduating seniors.
“Families can honor their senior students by getting as creative as possible and decorating their door honoring their child’s accomplishments,” Senior Committee Chair Mandi Dyner told Beverly Hills Weekly. “For example, my daughter was on the tennis team so I may hang her tennis uniform along with some signs.”

On April 29, BHUSD Superintendent Dr. Michael Bregy released a video announcing plans for graduation after a month and a half of speculation. Originally, the high school had tentative plans not to make any changes to the June 3 ceremony. Now, seniors will have a two-day virtual ceremony on June 3-4. There will be a virtual senior sunset featuring memorable moments from the senior's four years (seniors are encouraged to record eight-second videos of themselves discussing favorite memories), a video graduation, and a Diploma Drive at the high school where seniors can receive their diplomas. In an event that will be broadcast on Beverly Hills Television, students will drive through the school's parking garage wearing a cap and gown. They can then stand six feet away from Principal Mark Mead to take a professional graduation photo.
