Beverly Hills Police Cite 5, Arrest 1 During DUI Checkpoint

Police cited five people and arrested one during a DUI checkpoint on Sept. 8 in Beverly Hills.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Police cited five people and arrested one during a DUI checkpoint on Sept. 8, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The checkpoint, at North Santa Monica Boulevard and Crescent Drive, saw 1,450 vehicles pass through between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. Of those vehicles, 260 were screened, police said.

  • five drivers were cited for driving without a driver's license
  • one driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license and an outstanding DUI warrant

Police set up checkpoint locations based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The city's next checkpoint will be held in December at a to-be-determined date, police said.
