Suspects In Taped Road Rage Attack To Face Judge

Following an altercation with the two women, a man's leg was severed after being pinned to a wall at a Beverly Hills supermarket parking lot

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Two Long Beach Women charged in a suspected road rage incident where a man's leg was severed after being pinned to a wall at a Beverly Hills supermarket parking lot will face a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to move forward with a trial today.

Jamika Marie Abair, 23, and Sarah Gabriella Huerta, 20, had gotten into an argument in May with the victim in the Pavilions supermarket parking lot in the 9400 block of West Olympic Boulevard, prosecutors said. The argument ended with Abair allegedly driving her car toward the victim, pinning him against a railing, severing one of his legs below the knee, according to prosecutors.

The incident was was reportedly captured on video. Abair and Huerta were arrested the next day by Beverly Hills police. Abair pleaded not guilty to one felony count each of attempted murder, aggravated mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon, a vehicle. Huerta pleaded not guilty to one felony count of accessory after the fact.

If convicted, Abair faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison and Huerta faces three years in county jail.
