BREAKING: One Dead in Caltrain Accident at Atherton Station
This is Caltrain's 12th fatal accident so far this year.

A man was struck and killed by a Caltrain on Friday afternoon at the Atherton Station, the agency reported.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. when the man was struck by the northbound train. There were approximately 400 people on board at the time, Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew said. No words on whether anyone on board was injured.
Emergency personnel are on scene investigating the accident, Bartholomew said.

A preliminary investigation appears to indicate the death was an intentional act, according to Caltrain officials.
Services in the area were stopped and a SamTrans bus bridge will be implemented between Menlo Park and Redwood City for passengers affected, she said.
