CHP San Francisco Explorers Wanted

An open house will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at 6 p.m. at 455 8th Street in San Francisco.

The California Highway Patrol San Francisco Area is looking for motivated applicants interested in a career with law enforcement to join our newly formed Explorer Post.

In order to qualify you must:

  • Be between 15-21 years of age
  • Have an interest in law enforcement
  • Must have at least a 2.0 GPA
  • No drug or alcohol use
  • Good citizenship
  • No felony convictions

CHP Explorers are an integral part of the Department’s operations and are provided many opportunities to train, prepare, and experience the many duties of a CHP officer. Explorers participate in training sessions, ride with patrol officers, participate in community events, and attend Explorer competitions locally, regionally, and nationally.

“The California Highway Patrol Explorer Program allows us to work with some of our diverse community’s brightest and most professional young men and women. They will assist us is providing the highest level of safety, service, and security while learning a great deal about the California Highway Patrol and the law enforcement profession.”
