By Bay City News Service:
U.S. Coast Guard crews Tuesday morning found a body in the water near where a 22-year-old man went missing after the canoe he was in sank near Coyote Point in San Mateo on Monday night, a Coast Guard spokesman said.
The Coast Guard received a report of the missing man at about 10:20 p.m. Monday, Lt. j.g. Jacob Aulner said.

The man and two other people, a 22-year-old woman and 54-year-old man, went fishing out of Oyster Point in South San Francisco earlier Monday when the canoe took on water. The woman had last seen the 22-year-old man just before sunset when he tried to swim to shore to get help, Aulner said.
The woman was conscious and responsive when rescued at about 1:20 a.m., but the 54-year-old man was not when he was found around 2 a.m. Aulner said he did not have an update on the man’s condition as of Tuesday morning.

Coast Guard and fire crews saturated the area between Oyster Point and Coyote Point to look for the missing man overnight, according to Aulner.
The body found in the water Tuesday by a Coast Guard helicopter crew was found in the area of Coyote Point where the other two were found, but has not yet been identified, Aulner said.
All three people in the canoe were wearing life jackets and jumped from the canoe after it began taking on water, according to the Coast Guard.
