AMIGOS, an international non-profit organization, is a leader in international youth development, creating a world in which young people from the United States and Latin America realize their full potential as leaders and global citizens. Over 50 years, more than 26,000 AMIGOS alumni from the US have come away from their experience inspired to live a life of purpose as critically engaged global citizens. When you join the AMIGOS Summer Program through the Peninsula Chapter, our training will prepare you to work in Latin America with other participants your age to design and lead community development projects in areas such as public health, youth engagement, or environmental sustainability. You will learn to organize community members, solve problems, accept responsibility, and learn from others. But it’s not all work - you will live with a host family in a community, experiencing day to day life as a local, not a tourist. This authentic cultural and language immersion enables you to have an impactful and unforgettable summer where you will have an incredible time and make life-long friends.
