Sustainable San Mateo County reports latest trends at free Indicators Launch and Lunch

Hear from local experts on child care, education and health care at a free program on Wednesday, November 8, offered by Sustainable San Mateo County that explores how our community is managing the high cost of living in San Mateo County. We will share highlights of this year’s annual city survey focused on the cost of living and solutions to housing, transportation, and income challenges. Additionally, new data from the Indicators Report will reveal fresh statistics on income, jobs, agriculture, energy, and waste.

The program, which includes a free lunch, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Oak Room at the San Mateo Public Library, 50 W. Third Ave., San Mateo. Advance registration is requested; a few walk-ins may also be accommodated. Individuals who walk, bike, take public transit or carpool to the program will win a small gift and be entered in Spare the Air’s annual raffle.

Speakers will be Lawrence Cappel, board chair of the Peninsula Health Care District; David Fleishman, executive director of the Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County; and Tykia Warden, interim executive director of the San Mateo County Community College Foundation.
