Did You Witness This Crash? Police Seek Public's Help to Find ID of Hit-and-Run Suspect
At about 7:30 a.m. on Monday, a vehicle hit a pedestrian in San Mateo then fled the scene, police said.

San Mateo police asked for the public’s help Wednesday in identifying a hit-and-run suspect from a Monday morning collision with a pedestrian.
At about 7:30 a.m. on Monday, a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the 1200 block of South Norfolk Street then fled the scene, police said.
The pedestrian, an 18-year-old San Mateo resident, suffered minor injuries to his head and torso, police said.

The vehicle was described as a 1980s or 1990s Ford Mustang, possibly maroon, with chrome wheels, police said. It likely has damage to the front driver side fender and hood, according to police.
“If you were in the area at that time and witnessed the collision or you have information that you believe may assist with this investigation, please help by contacting the San Mateo Police Department,” police said in a statement Wednesday. “As your police officers we rely everyday on our community members to look out for each other and any assistance that you can offer this investigation would not only help identify the perpetrator, but also make our neighborhoods safer.”
