Elderly Driver Loses Control, Crashes Into Burlingame Building
Both the driver and her 81-year-old passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 76-year-old woman lost control of a vehicle and collided with a building in a shopping center in Burlingame Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The woman was in a parking lot at 1464 Fox Plaza Lane around 4:13 p.m. when she lost control and drove into the building, which is adjacent to a Walgreen’s, said Corporal Brett Murphy.

The collision caused moderate damage to the building, and major damage to the car, Murphy said.
“It put a big hole in the building,” Murphy said.

A city building inspector was inspecting the building Thursday evening to determine the status of the building, which houses a catering business, Murphy said.
No arrest is expected in connection with the collision.
“It was strictly an accident,” Murphy said.
