Ecumenical Service for Those Killed in Newtown

Burlingame Churches Invite Community to Service of Remembrance

Responding to the murder of school children and adults in Connecticut, area churches have banded together to invite the Burlingame-Hillsborough community to a time of remembrance, prayer, hope and healing.

The service will be Monday evening at 7 pm at First Presbyterian Church (El Camino at Easton).  Its leadership will include local pastors and representatives from city councils and school boards.

The service will seek to recognize our sorrow and pain for the children and families as well as the schools and communities at Newport.  It will seek to aid our healing through  varieties of music and readings from scripture, through prayer, silence, and brief reflection.

Following the service a reception will be held to welcome all to a time of informal talking together.  Child care for children under school age is provided by the church for the evening.
