Free Burlingame Program On New Ways To Save Water, Energy & Money

Four experts will introduce new energy- and water-saving technology that can help you improve energy and water efficiency and save money at a program at the Burlingame Public Library from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, presented by the Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame. Admission is free.

The program, “New Technology That Can Save Water, Energy and Money,” will take the mystery out of the next generation of electric heaters, cooktops and vehicles, as well as pioneering water leak detection devices. HVAC heating systems and cooktops will be on display. Speakers will be:

• Mike Rebholtz, General Manager of Alternative HVAC Solutions, who will introduce all-electric heating systems that are cleaner and more energy efficient than older natural gas systems
• Patti Sexton, Induction Cooktop Program Manager for Acterra, who will demonstrate new electric cooktops that are faster, cleaner, safer and more efficient than gas and older electric burners
• Carlos Moreno, Community Outreach Associate for Peninsula Clean Energy, who will share electric vehicle incentive programs that cut driving costs, maintenance and emissions versus gas-powered cars
• Danielle McPherson, Water Resource Specialist for WaterNow Alliance, who will show how leak detection devices quickly identify issues, conserve resources and prevent abnormally high monthly bills

“New electric-based technologies bring unmatched energy efficiency, performance and control to home cooling and heating,” said Rebholtz. “And with the lower cost of solar-based power, you can also help protect the planet and save money.”

This program is the last of seven free “Green Programs on Hot Topics” presented by the Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame (CEC) this year.
