How Gray Water Can Cut Your Water Use and Save You Money
Free program shows you how to slash your water bill in half

On Thursday, June 20, you can learn how to reduce your home's water use and slash your water bill by installing a gray water system that redirects wastewater from showers, bathtubs, laundry and bathroom sinks to irrigate your garden, ensuring that you have green landscaping even during droughts.
The program, “How Gray Water Can Cut Your Water Use and Save Money,” features Sherry Bryan of Ecology Action. It will be presented by the Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Lane Room at the Burlingame Public Library, 480 Primrose. It is cosponsored by the City of Burlingame and is funded by the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency. Admission is free.
Bryan, who has been teaching people about water conservation and irrigation for 15 years, will explain how to install a gray water system, what a system costs, building codes and how to find professionals to design, install and maintain your system. She also will discuss the kinds of plants you can water with gray water and plant-friendly laundry products. For more information, visit cecburlingame.org.
