Man Sentenced For 2015 Stabbing Death Of Burlingame Co-Worker

The jury did not buy the defendant's claim he stabbed the man in self-defense.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA -- A 29-year-old San Francisco man convicted of murder was sentenced to 46 years to life in prison Friday for the stabbing death of a co-worker in Burlingame, San Mateo County prosecutors said.

Rodney Williams was working for a rental car company when he attacked the victim, a 28-year-old man, in front of an office complex on Gilbreth Road on July 7, 2015, after the man expressed interest in Williams'
girlfriend, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

Williams claimed to have stabbed the victim in self-defense, Wagstaffe said, but the jury rejected that defense.
