Patricia Arquette and Jackie Speier - October 6 in Burlingame

Award-winning actor and activist Patricia Arquette will join Congresswoman Jackie Speier in conversation at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, at the Burlingame Public Library at 480 Primrose Road. This is the second event in the new Speaker Series offered by the Burlingame Library Foundation, which supports free programs for all ages, new technology and other enhancements to Burlingame’s two libraries.

Tickets are only available online at BurlingameLibraryFoundation.org. VIP tickets at $125 include admission to a private reception with Arquette and Speier at 3 p.m. and early access to seating. General tickets for admission at 4 p.m. are just $25, thanks to a generous donor.

Emmy, Oscar and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Patricia Arquette has had a long career in film and television. In 2015 she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Boyhood. Arquette formed the nonprofit organization GiveLove.org to provide ecological sanitation globally, and she has been an important voice in calling for fair and equal pay and an advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment.

Congresswoman Speier represents California’s 14th Congressional District, which stretches from the southern portion of San Francisco through San Mateo County to East Palo Alto. She has championed laws to protect women from violence, promote equal rights for all, and provide a strong national defense free of fraud and wasteful spending. She was named to Newsweek’s list of 150 “Fearless Women” in the world.
