Peninsula Traffic Enforcement Operation Nets 87 Citations

Law enforcement officers from the Burlingame and Atherton police departments took part in the operation.

A recent police operation on the Peninsula looking out for pedestrian safety resulted in the issuance of nearly 90 tickets, police said Thursday.

The operation, which was focused primarily in Atherton, was held all day Wednesday.

“The focused enforcement was to address the primary collision factors involving motorists and pedestrians,” according to Corporal Brett Murphy of the Burlingame Police Department. “The detail was part of an ongoing Office of Traffic Safety funded effort in San Mateo County to increase traffic safety on the Peninsula, coordinated by the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association.”
