Police Looking for Peninsula Robbery Suspect

A man was robbed at gunpoint in South San Francisco on Sunday morning, police said.

The victim was walking in the 600 block of Linden Avenue at about 2:50 a.m. when a man approached him and asked him for a cigarette.

When the victim said he did not have a cigarette, the suspect pulled out what may have been a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet, according to police. After taking the wallet, the suspect fled on foot toward Pine Avenue, police said.

Police are describing the suspect as a Hispanic man about 23 years old, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. Police said the man had short black hair and was clean-shaven. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with red lettering on the front, light-colored blue jeans and white shoes, according to police.
