San Mateo Sheriff on the Lookout for Armed Robbery Suspect

A man pointed a gun a woman getting out of her car in San Mateo Highlands demanding cash and jewelry.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Wednesday armed robbery in San Mateo Highlands.

Deputies responded at 5:50 p.m. to the 2000 block of Ticonderoga Drive to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The victim told deputies she had gotten out of her vehicle after parking in her driveway when a man ran up to her, pointed a gun at her and demanded money and jewelry.

The victim gave the suspect the items, and the suspect fled the area on foot.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.

The victim described the suspect as a black man in his mid-30s,about 6 feet 1 inch tall, 200 pounds and with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a gray knit cloth covering his face and was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
