Southbound Highway 101 at Burlingame Reopens, Northbound to Follow at 5 p.m.

Commuters are advised to use I-280 as an alternate route.

The southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101 have reopened in Burlingame on Saturday afternoon following a Friday night crash that left downed power lines in the roadway, according to the CHP.

The northbound lanes are still closed for now, according to the CHP, but crews on scene have said they expect the roadway to reopen by 5 p.m.

Commuters are advised to use Interstate Highway 280 as an alternate route.

A tractor-trailer struck a power pole on southbound Highway 101 near the Broadway off-ramp around 9:30 p.m. Friday, knocking high-voltage lines down across both northbound and southbound lanes, according to the CHP.

Crews with PG&E have been working on an electric tower damaged in the crash.
