Two Teenagers Arrested for DUI During San Bruno Saturation Patrol

San Bruno police plan several more saturation patrols in the next six months.

San Bruno police officers arrested two Bay Area teenagers on separate occasions during a DUI Saturation Patrol.

The DUI Saturation Patrol was conducted in San Bruno last Saturday evening from 7 p.m to 3 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the San Bruno Police Department.

Jasmine Jaber of Fairfield, 18, was arrested at approximately 1 a.m. on El Camino Real and Angus Avenue. According to Sergeant Ryan Johansen, Jaber was cited for being under 21 and having a blood alcohol level of 0.1%, which is 0.02% higher than the legal limit.

Jaber was released at the scene to family members, according to police.

At approximately 3 a.m., police arrested Juan Tapia Garcia of South San Francisco, 18, at El Camino Real and San Bruno Avenue. According to Sgt. Johansen, Garcia had a blood alcohol level of 0.08% and was cited for conventional DUI.

Garcia was released to First Chance, a sobering facility for non-violent drinking and drug use offenders in Burlingame, according to Sgt. Johansen.

During Saturday’s DUI Saturation Patrol, San Bruno police issued seven other citations that included driving without a license, driving with a suspended license, not yielding to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, and two seatbelt violations.

“There will be multiple similar saturation patrols each month over at least the next six months,” Sgt. Johansen said.
