Victim ID'd In Deadly Burlingame Stabbing
BREAKING: Coroner's officials say the man was a local resident.

BURLINGAME, CA -- A man who was allegedly stabbed to death by a Burlingame woman at a local residence over the weekend has been publicly identified. The San Mateo County coroner's office says 53-year-old Edward Allison of Burlingame died Saturday night following the alleged attack.
According to Burlingame police, they were called to the 100 block of Myrtle Road around 9:40 p.m. Saturday for an "unresponsive male." Emergency personnel tried to administer aid, but Allision died at the scene.
At the scene was a 36-year-old Burlingame woman, identified as Mia Smith, who was ultimately arrested in the case on suspicion of murder. Smith called police after the stabbing and was at the home when police got there.

Burlingame Police Lt. Jay Kiely could not say what led up to Allison's death but said Smith and Allison were romantically involved and lived together.
"The suspect in this case was known to the victim, and there is no threat to public safety related to this incident," Kiely said in a press statement.

Smith was taken to the county jail. She was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
