Woman Killed in I-280 Crash ID'd as Katherine Mooring of Hillsborough

Mooring died after her vehicle crashed head-on into the beginning of a metal guardrail Sunday.

The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who died in a collision on Interstate Highway 280 Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim was identified as 32-year-old Katherine Mooring, according to San Mateo County coroner’s office spokesman Brad Buchanan.

Mooring, a Hillsborough resident, died after her vehicle crashed head-on into the beginning of a metal guardrail, according to CHP spokesman Art Montiel.

There was also a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the fatal crash who suffered minor injuries and was transported to Stanford University Hospital, according to the CHP.
