Crews Battle Quimby Fire In Santa Clara County
Breaking: The wildfire east of San Jose had scorched at least 50 acres by late Wednesday night.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A wildfire burning in a remote area east of San Jose had consumed 54 acres but was 55 percent contained late Wednesday night, according to Cal Fire.
The fire began at about 6 p.m. Wednesday near Quimby and Mt. Hamilton roads, according to Cal Fire Division Chief Jim Crawford.
The area is open and no structures were being threatened.

Firefighters were working to contain the fire and were expected to remain at the scene through the night.
No injuries have been reported, Crawford said.
