Santa Cruz County Man Accused Of Stabbing Cousin
The 33 year old was arrested Sunday night in Watsonville.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing his cousin late Sunday night in Watsonville, police said today. Serafin Bernabe Jr. was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, illegal possession of a firearm and probation violation, according to police.
He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail, according to jail records. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing victim in the area of Union and Grant streets shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Arriving officers found the victim, a 28-year-old man, who said his cousin, Bernabe, had stabbed him at a home in the 400 block of Riverside Drive, according to police.

Police went to the Riverside Drive home, where they found Bernabe hiding in a bedroom and arrested him, police said.
The officers also found evidence and blood at the crime scene that linked Bernabe to the stabbing, according to police.

Bernabe was found to be on probation at the time of his arrest, permitting officers to search the home, where they found a .22-caliber rifle in his bedroom, according to police. The victim was transported to a trauma center to be treated for two stab wounds to his upper torso and a third on his hand. He was listed in stable condition, police said.
