North Bay Dad Arrested Following Alleged Abduction Of Daughters

A man suspected of abducting his two daughters was arrested in Santa Rosa on Friday, Rohnert Park police said.

The girls, 11-year-old Kyra and 9-year-old Alyssa, were returned home safe and taken into protective custody late Friday morning, Rohnert Park police said.

Santa Rosa police arrested the father, 45-year-old Everett Reep, at a residence he has on Arista Lane in Santa Rosa on suspicion of felony child endangerment and committing a felony while out on bail, police said.

He was booked in the Sonoma county jail on a $1 million bail. Santa Rosa police responded to a report of a disturbance at Reep’s house at around 5:40 p.m. and detained him while Rohnert Park police investigated the possible parental abduction, according to police.

Reep obtained an emergency custody order Tuesday after he was served with a temporary restraining order filed by his ex-wife. Reep then picked up his two oldest daughters from an after-school program they attended.

On Wednesday, the girls’ mother, Kami Reep, contacted the Mendocino County Superior Court that issued the emergency custody order and the court rescinded the order, according to police.

Police said Everett Reep appeared to have turned off his phone and did not respond to text messages, voice mails and emails advising him the emergency custody order was rescinded and ordering him to return the girls to their mother, police said.

Police said they believed Reep was driving to Washington state in a 1998 Mercedes Benz E320, and that they had received information he was stopped on Interstate Highway 5 in Oregon with the girls in his car on Tuesday evening.

Police said they understood Reep had been “very hostile” lately and might have been trying to conceal the girls from their mother after he was served with the restraining order.
