
More than 6,500 customers have signed up for the online utility bill pay system, saving time and money. Residents and businesses in the Carlsbad Municipal Water District service area can sign up through the city's website with a valid e-mail address and their utility bill account number to create an online account in just a matter of minutes.
"Carlsbad is committed to investing in technology that provides better customer service for our community," said Finance Manager Colette Wengenroth. "Our online bill pay service offers residents a simple, secure and quick option to pay their monthly bill and review their account, anytime, anywhere. Residents save time, and a stamp, by going online."
Online bill pay users can quickly log in to the site and make a secure payment with a Visa or Mastercard. Payments are posted to the account the following business day. Users also may easily view their monthly utility bill and account billing history.

To help with water conservation efforts, users may also review meter reading history and compare water usage month to month.
To create a secure online bill pay account visit https://waterbill.carlsbadca.gov, and click on "pay bills online." Residents will need a blue City of Carlsbad utility bill and a valid e-mail address to complete online registration.

Customer service for online bill pay is a click away, either by sending an e-mail or calling the city's Finance Department at 760-602-2420 during regular business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
