Beaches, Parks And Trails Reopen In Carlsbad
City beaches in Carlsbad, Del Mar and Solana Beach reopened Monday along with state beaches in Carlsbad and Torrey Pines.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — All beaches reopened Monday in Carlsbad after beaches were closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The city controls about three-quarters of a mile of beach, north of Oak Avenue to the Oceanside border, while State Parks owns and manages the other six miles of Carlsbad's coastline. The two entities worked together to open both the city and state beaches.
City and state beaches in Del Mar, Solana Beach and Torrey Pines also reopened Monday.

Beachgoers were allowed to walk and run on the sand, as well as swim, surf, kayak and paddleboard in the ocean. Group gatherings and sitting and lying down on the beach remained prohibited. Parking lots also remained closed.

Many beaches in San Diego County reopened last week after county officials further eased restrictions put in place due to the pandemic. Beaches in San Diego, Coronado, Encinitas, Imperial Beach and Oceanside reopened April 27 for recreational activities.
On Monday, parks and trails in the city of Carlsbad also reopened for walking, running and sitting on the grass. Parking lots at the parks opened at half-capacity.
