Carlsbad Man Accused of $2.5M Commodity Pool Scheme

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has filed a complaint against Jeffrey Gustaveson of Carlsbad, charging him with fraud, misappropriation and issuing false statements.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) said Jeffrey Gustaveson accepted at least $2,495,000 from at least four individuals to invest in a commodity futures pool from January 2010 through July 2010.

Gustaveson admitted in a California state court proceeding that he had embezzled money and falsified financial statements, the CFTC said.
