1. 40 Years of Peace, Love & Guacamole at Avocado Festival (noozhawk.com) — Downtown Carpinteria is gearing up for the 40th California Avocado Festival this Friday through Sunday, with free admission, more than 60 bands, contests, kids' activities, and plenty of avocado-themed food. As ocean temperatures rise, UCSB tracks Santa Barbara's great white sharks with AI (keyt.com) — Right off Carpinteria and Santa Barbara's beaches, UCSB researchers are using AI and drones to track juvenile great white sharks and share free "shark weather reports" with the community. With unusually warm waters keeping more sharks nearby, locals can use SharkEye alerts to better understand daily shark activity and make informed, safer decisions about enjoying the ocean.
   

5. USPS Hosting Job Fairs in Carpinteria, Oxnard, Lancaster, Goleta, Camarillo & more (usps.com) — Carpinteria residents interested in steady, benefit-rich work can meet USPS recruiters at upcoming local job fairs, where staff will help you set up an online profile and apply on the spot.
