HAYWARD, CA — A seal found itself somewhat far from home Thursday as it wandered through Hayward Thursday.
Police say they responded to a call about a seal in the middle of the roadway and made sure it stayed safe while officials from the Marine Mammal Center arrived.
The seal got to enjoy a little playtime before The Marine Mammal Center took it into their care, according to the Hayward Police Department.

It's unclear where the seal came from or how it got there. Police also did not say exactly where they found the seal.
This isn't the first Bay Area seal to capture attention for its adventurous ways.
In April, a Sea Lion pup was found wandering around San Francisco streets, far from its usual habitat. Officials named the seal Irving.
