Arroyo DECA Club Wins Gold and a State Office
Team heads to Orlando—with your help—after state win.
DECA is an organization that supports students' professional and academic interests in marketing and business.
DECA’s competitive events program directly supports its mission to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and business management. It uses time-tested techniques that apply learning, connect businesses and promote competition to directly contribute to every student being college and career-ready.
Arroyo DECA, lead and advised by Christina Charlton, had a great showing at the Northern California Development Conference in San Ramon in early January and wanted to follow that up with a strong showing at the State career development conference in Santa Clara in early March—and Arroyo DECA did just that.

Jose ran a very energetic and competitive campaign, supported by his Arroyo DECA Team, to win over a candidate from Rancho Bernardo High School in southern California. This was an incredible moment in the history of Arroyo DECA! Jose will have the opportunity to travel all of the next year to develop chapter programs through out the entire United States. We are very proud of him!
