CHP: One Person Dead, Two in Hospital After Car Leaves Road, Flips on Palomares Road
The collision occurred just before 9 p.m. Monday night.

One person is dead and two more are in the hospital after a vehicle went off the road in unincorporated Alameda County and overturned Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol. The first call of the crash on Palomares Road about two to three miles north of Niles Canyon Road came in just before 9 p.m., CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
Van Eckhardt said four people were the vehicle and some were trapped inside after the vehicle overturned on its roof and came to rest about 50 feet from the road. Van Eckhardt said emergency personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate some or all of those trapped. One person escaped injury, Van Eckhardt said.
CHP officials closed Palomares Road to investigate the crash and the road reopened at 1:05 a.m. this morning.
