White House Fence Jumper Arrested, Identified as Hayward Resident
Jerome Hunt, 54, was quickly apprehended and is scheduled to appear in court today.

A Hayward man was arrested Sunday night for allegedly climbing over a White House fence, U.S. Secret Service officials said today. Jerome Hunt, 54, is accused of climbing over a fence on the south side of the White House at about 10:25 p.m. Sunday.
Hunt was immediately arrested after getting over the fence, according to the Secret Service. He has been charged with misdemeanor unlawful entry and was scheduled to appear in Superior Court of the District of Columbia today, according to court records.
According to CNN, Hunt was carrying a package initially thought to be suspicious, when he climbed the fence but upon investigation following his arrest, the package was determined to be harmless.

CNN reported that about a dozen people who have made it over the high fence around the White House in the last five years.
