Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) offices will be closed Tuesday, December 24th, Wednesday, December 25th, Tuesday, December 31st, and Wednesday, January 1st in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. Recycling, organics, and garbage collection services by Alameda County Industries (ACI) will occur one day later for all customers during Christmas and New Year’s Holiday weeks. For complete holiday service information, please visit

Holiday Tree Recycling will occur on your regular collection day, January 6th - 10th, and January 13th - 17th. Remove ornaments, tinsel, nails, and stands. Flocked trees will be collected but not composted. If necessary, cut the tree into a maximum of six-foot lengths.

• Single-family residents may set out holiday trees curbside.
• Multi-family residents may set out holiday trees curbside or in the general collection area.
