CVSan: Earth Day Donations to Three Charities
On July 28, 2026, three non-profit charities were presented with donation checks from CVSan.

On July 28, 2026, three non-profit charities were presented with donation checks from Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) at CVSan’s Board of Directors (Board) meeting. The three charities were Center for the Dance, a.k.a. Dance Live Dream Center; Castro Valley Adult and Career Education School Strides Program; and ForestR.org. The charities were presented with checks of $315.00, $440.00, and $770.00, respectively.
CVSan General Manager Roland Williams stated, “There were over 410 volunteers from six public sites and 11 schools at CVSan’s 22nd Annual Earth Day event. This was the 13th year where each volunteer was able to select one of three charitable organization to receive a $5.00 donation on their behalf from CVSan, and CVSan was proudly donating $1,525.00 to local charity groups this year.”
Executive Director Monica Dominguez of Center for the Dance Theatre Co., a.k.a. Dance Live Dream expressed appreciation to CVSan for the generous donation and said that “This investment and support will help to continue our work to inspire a love of the arts. We value CVSan’s partnership and investment in the community.”

Assistant Principal Keith Nauman of the Castro Valley Adult and Career Education School expressed appreciation to CVSan for the donation and said that “CVACE has worked with CVSan on the Green Ribbon Program for years. The Green Ribbon Program requirements were a source of inspiration for our curriculum and for helping students to find ways of giving back to the planet.”
ForestR.org Founders Yon Hardisty and Nimone Li-Hardisty expressed their appreciation and said that “ForestR.org had been partnering with CVSan for a number of years on projects such as local gleaning and litter pickups, and coordinating event sites for Earth Day.” Mr. Hardisty also expressed appreciation to CVACE Strides and Center for the Dance Theatre Co. for the work they do to support the community of Castro Valley.
