Economic Justice Lenten Series in Castro Valley

Our Lady of Grace Church explores the Occupy Movement March 21 and the face of human trafficking March 28

 

The Pax Christi/Social Justice Group of will host two more sessions in its Lenten Series on economic justice issues.


On March 21 a panel discussion,  "The Truth About Occupy",  will be presented from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Panelists will speak on how the “Occupy” movement relates to  moral values and Catholic social teaching. Walt Sears of the Diocesan Stewardship Commission and Maxima Ventura from "Knit In" will take part in the discussion.

"The Face of Human Trafficking" will be the topic of discussion on March 28 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Sr. Caritas will present information about what drives the market for human trafficking and just how many people are victimized by it. Come learn about the painful, human side of illegal immigration during this presentation. A discussion will follow.


Each of the programs take place following the church's Wednesday evening soup dinners and will be held at the Augustinian Center located behind Our Lady of Grace Church at 3433 Somerset Avenue, Castro Valley.
