These days, it's considered a crime for a town to be without a farmers' market where locals can come for fresh, organic produce and other good stuff that was grown no more than 100 miles from the market itself (per the definition of a farmers' market.) Castro Valley's seasonal market runs from May to October at the Castro Valley Bart Station from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
